Bad Girl (ばっどがーる Baddo Gāru, stylized as BADGIRL) is an anime adaptation based on the manga of the same name. It is produced by Bridge inc. and premiered on July 6, 2025.
Introduction[]
Yuu Yuutani, a first-year high school student with sharp eyes, large piercings, and flashy two-tone hair, is not a well-known bad girl who everyone makes way for. She is actually a very good girl at heart, and her mind is always full of thoughts of the school's madonna, Atori Mizutori. Wanting to attract the attention of the disciplinary committee chairman Atori, Yuu decides to quit being an honor student and become a "bad delinquent!" A school comedy depicting the struggles of a slightly foolish self-proclaimed delinquent is about to begin![1][2]
Promotion and release[]
Before the anime was officially announced, it created an X (formerly Twitter) account in May 2024 with a temporary placeholder image and name. It also created a website called "badgirl-anime.com" in June 2024.
On June 28, 2024, the anime series was officially announced after the Manga Time Kirara Carat August 2024 issue. The official X account and website are opened with a teaser visual and staff revealed.[3][4]
On January 28, 2025, the anime's first key visual, main cast, and additional staff were revealed.[5][6] The anime is set to premiere in July 2025, after the Manga Time Kirara Carat March 2025 issue,[5] the magazine's issue did not mention the premiere date until the next issue mentions it.[7]
On March 25, 2025, the official X account revealed that the new anime information would be revealed on March 27 after following the POP design visual released for Yuu and others.[8][9][10][11] On March 27, 2025, the first PV was released along with the updated first key visual, which includes Kiyoraka and Mizuka, with the cast revealed. The anime will premiere on TOKYO MX and BS11.[12][13] On the same day, a live streaming will be held on the official KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE YouTube channel on April 6, 2025, at 7 PM JST, which includes new information about the anime.[14]
On April 6, 2025, during the live stream, the group from the anime's main cast was formed into a unit called TENROGUN and had already started its activities.[15]
On April 28, 2025, after the Manga Time Kirara Carat June 2025 issue, a character PV for Yuu and Suzu was released using TENROGUN's first digital single song.[16] The anime also opens the official TikTok account.[17]
On May 28, 2025, after the Manga Time Kirara Carat July 2025 issue, a character PV for Atori and Rura was released using TENROGUN's second digital single song.[18]
On June 8, 2025, at midnight JST, it was announced that the main PV would be released on June 9 at 7 PM JST, along with the reveal of TENROGUN's opening theme song.[19] On the next day, the main PV was released with the opening theme song titled "Super Big Love!" by TENROGUN.[20][21] The anime will premiere on TOKYO MX and BS11 on July 6, 2025, at 1 AM JST. Before the broadcast in 1 hour, it will be released on July 6 at midnight JST on various streaming services in Japan.[22] It also announces the new cast, Maria Komari will be voiced by Yui Horie.[23]
On June 27, 2025, after the Manga Time Kirara Carat August 2025 issue, the ending theme song was revealed, titled "BAD SURPRISE" by TENROGUN. Before the premiere, the non-credit ending video was released on July 1, 2025.[24]
Overseas distribution[]
On June 5, 2025, HIDIVE, a North American anime streaming service from Sentai, acquired the series after updating the panel information for the HIDIVE Presents screening at Anime Expo 2025. The pre-screening was held on July 4, just one day before the premiere in Japan.[25] The announcement was posted publicly on the website on June 23, 2025, revealing that the pre-screening had the first two episodes.[26]
On June 25, 2025, Hong Kong licensor Medialink licensed the series and will be streamed on the official Ani-One YouTube channels in South Asia and Southeast Asia, including Macau, Mongolia, and Taiwan.[27] On June 30, 2025, Taiwanese anime streaming service, Bahamut Animation Crazy added the series to the summer 2025 line-up.[28]
In France and Germany, Animation Digital Network will stream the series with localized subtitles.[29]
In South Korea, ANIPLUS acquired the series and premiered on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1:00 AM KST, three days after the premiere in Japan.[30] The series will be released on the same day on LAFTEL.[31]

- “My impression of Atori is that she is the "head of the school's public morals committee," so...
Above all, I had the first impression of a serious... as you read on, you'll see that she is a fast-paced older sister, a flamboyant and funny older sister, and... she was elusive, unpredictable, and freer than anyone else.

- “When I read the manga, the gags in the work were so funny that I couldn't help but laugh out loud! I remember how sad I was to finish reading the book in an instant because I was grinning as I read it in many ways!

- “I think this work is not only cute but also very peculiar (lol), the expressions and word sense that are unique to Bad Girl are really wonderful, and there are many expressions that I would like to use~~~ in my daily life!
There are lots of yuri elements, each person has an arrow pointing to someone else, and there are many different ways to attack someone, which makes for a very exciting and exciting development!!”[33]

- “Rura-chan is the strongest innocent character and a super cute beautiful, tight-fitting woman who understands her own cuteness better than anyone else♡♡♡♡

- “At first glance, she seems to be just a pure girl, but that is not the only reason why she appears in "Bad Girl."
I have had many opportunities to play dangerous characters in the past,

- “They are all cute and their daily interactions are adorable, and yet they are all somehow not straightforward.
I thought the gag scene was the funniest thing I've ever seen!
It's not just a bunch of cute kids cackling and giggling,

- “Mizuka Mizutori, who I will be playing, is Atori's younger sister, and all the joys of life are her big sister.
She was one of the most punchy girls I have ever had the pleasure of playing, whose hobby is being a big sister. (lol)
She is shy and very cute, and the rivalry between her and Yuu-chan is a lot of fun,

- “The heroine, Yuu-chan, is floundering around, being pushed around and tossed about by the characters around her, and I thought it was a very cute, heartwarming, and sometimes hilarious work!”[35]
